The Stearns History Museum was organized in 1936 by a group
of area citizens. In 1973, it began shaping itself into a professional museum.
Later in 1982, groundbreaking took place for the current facility. Today
it is a nationally accredited museum, serving the people of Stearns County and
drawing visitors from all over the U.S. and world.
The museum is located in a 100-acre nature park with flower
gardens, ponds, walking trails, abundant wildlife, and a skateboard park.
It offers exhibit galleries, a research center, historical archives, meeting
rooms and a children’s play area. Throughout the year, the Museum
presents exhibits, programs and activities that educate, entertain, and
inspire.
